Pei Mei was a Taiwanese chef celebrity who authored over 30 Chinese cookbooks. Pei Mei's Chinese Cook Book Volume 1 is the first of a three part series that is considered the most comprehensive guide to Chinese cooking. This copy features recipes in Cantonese with English translation, alongside stylized food photos that perfectly represent that time and place. First published in 1969, this book is considered instrumental in advancing the friendship between American and Chinese people. This extensive first volume is no longer in print.
